Think about the last time you were under real pressure. Chances are your shoulders crept up toward your ears and your jaw tightened without you noticing. Stress isn’t only a feeling in your head. Your body carries it too.
Where stress lands in your body
When you’re stressed, your body braces. Muscles tense and stay tense, often around the neck, shoulders, and upper back. Hold that bracing for days or weeks and those muscles get tired, tight, and sore. The tension becomes a background hum you stop noticing until it turns into a stiff neck or a headache.
The loop between tension and stress
It works both ways. Stress tightens your body, and a tight, uncomfortable body makes it harder to feel settled. Poor sleep, shallow breathing, and clenched shoulders feed back into how wound-up you feel. Breaking into that loop anywhere can help.
How chiropractic care fits in
We can’t remove the stress in your life, but we can look at how your body is holding it. Care focuses on the neck and upper back where tension tends to gather, alongside simple things you can do at home to help your body unwind.
